The Ashdown Studio 15: Set the Tone
Using the various controls fitted on the face of the Studio 15, you can largely influence the sound this combo thrusts out. First of all, there's a 5-band EQ with knobs to adjust the bass, mids, treble and everything in between while to go from a clean signal to all-out distortion, simply turn up the shape, drive and pre-gain. Since this bass combo is rear-ported, the low tones are outstandingly reproduced and it's this versatility, along with a tweeter and an active/passive button, that make the Studio 15 perfect for practically any style.

Een minpunt is de handleiding. Deze is summier en niet in het Nederlands. Daardoor ook zitten klooien met hoe ik überhaupt geluid uit de kast kon krijgen. Na enkele uren proberen met allerlei mogelijkheden mede gecreëerd door mijn boss effectenpedaal had ik eindelijk een aanvaardbaar geluid. Maar het beste geluid is zonder een effectpedaal gewoon rechtstreeks op de bascombo. Het gewicht is aanvaardbaar. Veel lichter kan niet volgens mij zonder in te boeten op het geluid. Als eindconclusie een prima combo nu nog iemand die een gebruikershandleiding in het Nederlands er aan toevoegt.
Topcombo. Vooral combinatie gewicht en volume/dikke klank is super.
Heel blij mee dus, zeker omwille van het feit dat ik 'm nog scherper geprijsd als B-stock op de kop kon tikken.

Finally got to use this in a big hall and it had no problem keeping up with the drums in volume. Super light weight but the 15" speaker produces loads of bottom end and stays really clear.
Playing in smaller venues anything above 9 o'clock on the volume control starts shaking the room 👍.
Brilliant amplifier, only complaint is the effects loop is a single stereo jack and finding a quality Y connector is expensive compared to a couple of mono leads.
Great amp - buy one.
